Grammy Winner Jesse Harris for "A Song For You Foundation"

Today's featured song comes to us from Grammy Award-winning songwriter, singer, guitarist, and producer Jesse Harris. Originally from New York City, Jesse has released more than 20 albums under his own name, along with numerous recordings with his instrumental group Cosmo and a wide range of collaborations with other artists. His latest album, Paper Flower, was recorded in Paris with longtime collaborators Kenny Wollesen and Tony Scherr.

In 2003, Jesse received the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for writing Norah Jones' Don't Know Why from her debut album, Come Away With Me, which has sold nearly 30 million copies worldwide. The album also features four additional Jesse Harris compositions—Shoot the Moon, One Flight Down, I've Got to See You Again, and The Long Day Is Over—with Jesse performing guitar throughout the record.

His songs have also been recorded by artists including Smokey Robinson, George Benson, Pat Metheny, and Solomon Burke. His songwriting collaborations span an impressive range of artists, including Maya Hawke, John Zorn, Madeleine Peyroux, Melody Gardot, Gabi Hartmann, and Lana Del Rey. In addition to his solo work, Jesse continues to release instrumental music with Cosmo, including the albums But When? (2022) and Spring Song (2023). His solo album If You Believed In Me, featuring orchestral arrangements by Maycon Ananias, followed in 2025.

We are incredibly honored to have Jesse as part of the A Song For You Foundation artist family. Born in the pandemic, the Foundation provides healing and comfort to patients and their loved ones through personalized recorded songs while also honoring the first responders and healthcare workers who care for them. Jesse's generosity and artistry have helped us further that mission.

In 2022, NBC featured a clip of Jesse performing his song Everlasting Day—a song we shared with our patient, Mable. Jesse is as humble as he is talented, and we are deeply grateful for his friendship, his compassion, and the beautiful music he continues to share with our families. 🤍
